The 2019 Met Gala has an interesting topic, the aesthetic style of camp. It’s a style that is dated back to the 17th Century, but still has modern connotations. Camp is often associated with movies like Mommie Dearest or Video Games like Bayonetta, but fashion rarely gets it’s campy due. But this year’s Met Gala theme will explore the topic through the eyes of Susan Sontag’s “Notes on Camp”.

  1. Hey just quick historical rectification from a french viewer, Louis XIV (14th) didn’t die from the guillotine, but from a basic sickness. Guillotine came later with the french revolution under the reign of Louis XVI (16th), his grand son, which is married with Marie Antoinette, and they both died under the guillotine. Hope it makes more sense !

  2. One of my favourite bits of Notes on Camp is where Sontag talks about "failure", when you try so hard to say 1 thing & you don't quite pull it off, or it reveals something else instead. I'm really interested to see who nails those unintentional notes when celebs are planning and dealing outfits months in advance.

  3. I’ve never enjoyed a YouTube video like this πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’“πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’•

  4. I really think a lot of designers can push the envelope and think outside the box with the camp theme and I hope adhere to the theme better this year than previous ones. I can't wait to see the red carpet!
